|
About
The Larkspur Racing 100m Invitation Handicap is the inaugural meeting of the new Musselburgh Athletics Series.
The event, sponsored by Larkspur Racing Ltd. (Bookmakers), will be held in conjunction with the final National Hunt meeting of the season on Saturday 24th February.
Twenty-eight sprinters, many of whom were semi-finalists of the recent New Year Sprint, are due to line up with their eyes firmly fixed on the £1000 first prize.
The event will be staged as 4 heats of 7 runners, with heat winners and 4 fastest losers going through to the final. Each race will be broadcast on live television. The heats will be published on race day.

Results
Glorious weather greeted the final National Hunt meeting of the season at Musselburgh Racecourse. But, with only a few minutes to go before the first race on the card, sunshine briefly turned to snow. A subsequent stewards inspection of the course resulted in abandonment of the horse racing, but the foot racing pressed ahead. Yet again the foot racing failed to achieve television coverage.
